Naturopathic medicine is a distinct primary health care profession that emphasizes prevention,
treatment, and optimal health through the use of therapeutic methods and substances that encourage
individuals’ inherent self-healing processes. This approach combines scientific knowledge with
traditional and natural forms of medicine. It focuses on treating the whole person and addressing the
root causes of illness, rather than merely alleviating symptoms. Naturopathic medicine can benefit
health by utilizing a range of therapies including nutrition, lifestyle counseling, herbal medicine, and
homeopathy, among others, tailored to the individual’s specific needs. This holistic approach helps
improve overall well-being, prevents chronic diseases, and empowers patients to take an active role
in their health.

Dr. Sylvia has been practicing chiropractic for more than 25 years. Her goal is always to provide a practice where her passion for chiropractic ignites her patients to live healthier lifestyles.

Graduating from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science degree, she then attended the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic for four years. After graduation and working in preceptorships in Los Angeles and passing the California State Boards, Dr. Sylvia returned home to Toronto.

She first came to start her career at the Agincourt Chiropractic and Rehab Center as an associate for two and a half years. She then went on to start her own practice, the North York Medical Arts Chiropractic Clinic where she started working with more families and their young children. After twelve years and two associates and a full practice, Dr. Sylvia took a break to start a family and enjoy being a mom.

Incorporating everything she has learned over the years in wellness care and chiropractic practice, Dr. Sylvia started again with CR8WELLNESS. She uses a variety of techniques to provide the best results, but always paying attention to the needs of each patient. She incorporates the Diversified technique for the spine and extremities, drop table assisted adjusting, soft tissue techniques and physical therapy modalities including IFC. Dr. Sylvia is also certified by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association in the Webster technique (a specific method of adjustment that’s helpful during pregnancy to allow proper pelvic balance) and the specific care for Pediatric and pre and post natal care.

With the increase in use of technology in the digital age, Dr. Sylvia pays close attention to posture and how it affects our spinal function. Using postural assessments and specific postural exercises to help maintain spinal curves and allow their proper functioning, Dr. Sylvia’s main goal is always enhancing spinal health and therefore overall wellness!

Her love of meditation and daily breathing exercises are also incorporated in her patients care. But along with this and pilates, weight training and hiking and golfing, Dr. Sylvia definitely enjoys her active lifestyle and therefore makes certain she also receives weekly care from her favourite chiropractors!
